BECOME A MEMBER
There are various types of membership available.
BSH Travel Scholarships
To support: attendance at international conferences, workshops, symposia or courses. Travel scholarships can also include travel within the UK.
Maximum amount: £1000.
Eligibility criteria: Individuals will be eligible for one Travel Scholarship (and one Scientific Fellowship) per three-year period.
Deadline: Applications can be received at any time; however applications to attend the American Society of Haematology should be received by 30th September of each year. Please allow sufficient time for your application to be processed and the Trustees’ decision notified. Please note that no retrospective claims will be considered.
Number of grants available per year: Not limited: each will be considered on individual merit.
Applications are welcome from: younger members of the Society and recently appointed consultants. This includes clinicians and non-clinical Lecturers and Senior Lecturers and all grades of Clinical Scientists, Biomedical Scientists, Research Scientists and Technicians. Applications from young haematologists who are not currently members of the Society will also be considered if they are sponsored by a member and have also submitted a BSH membership application form. Sponsors of applicants applying for Travel Scholarships must hold current membership of the British Society for Haematology.
Sponsorship: Applicants must either be members already, or have applied for membership and be sponsored by a fully paid-up member of the British Society for Haematology. This member should indicate their support by emailing Daphne Harvey at daphne.harvey@b-s-h.org.uk.
Afterwards: A brief one-page report on the benefit gained is required within eight weeks of return from the meeting.
