BSH Early-Stage Research Start-up Grants

To support: consumable expenses for projects which will potentially lead to full grant proposals.

Maximum amount: £10000.  

Application details: There is no set application form, but they should include all relevant supporting information including a research plan, budget, previous relevant research, short curriculum vitae of the applicant(s) and a letter of support from the Head of Service/Supervisor.  These will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Sub-Committee and also external reviewed.

Eligibility criteria: maximum of one grant per person.

Deadline: Annual deadline 30th June and competitively assessed

Number of grants available per year: 6.

Applications are welcome from: young investigators to give them the opportunity to follow a research plan leading to a full grant application who have been a British Society for Haematology member for a minimum of one year prior to application..

Sponsorship: Must be supported by Head of Service/Supervisor

Afterwards: A report on the outcome of the research supported by the BSH Start-up grant is required within one year of the award, indicating if further funding has been obtained on the basis of the grant.
