This is the Home Page of the British Society for Haematology (BSH). It is the main Haematology Society in the United Kingdom with over 1300 members
Objectives of the Society
These are to advance the practice and study of haematology and to facilitate contact between persons interested in haematology.
The Society promotes these objectives by:
- Holding scientific meetings which are co-ordinated by the Scientific Sub-Committee.
- Publishing Guidelines from the British Committee for Standards in Haematology.
- Offering Scientific Scholarships for younger doctors and scientists in the discipline and Student Scholarships for medical electives in Haematology.
- Being an active participant of the International Society of Hematology (ISH) and the International Council for Standardization in Haematology (ICSH).
- Publishing regular Bulletins.
- Having the BJH as its official Journal.
- Providing financial support to Regional and National Scientific Meetings.
- Having representatives on relevant committees of the Royal College of Pathologists, Royal College of Physicians and the Joint Committee on Higher Medical Training.
